Extruded polystyrene · 150–700 kPa
XPS Foam Insulation Board
XPS (extruded polystyrene) foam board has a thermal conductivity of about 0.028–0.030 W/(m·K), roughly R-5 per inch, compressive strength of 150–700 kPa and water absorption under 1% by volume, which makes it the standard insulation under freezer room floors.
λ ≤ 0.030 W/(m·K) · R-5 per inch
λ ≤ 0.030 W/(m·K) · R-5 per inchSpecifications
Typical models.
Closed-cell extruded polystyrene boards for freezer floors, foundations, inverted roofs and walls. High compressive strength and very low water uptake, in blue, pink or custom colours. Values are typical; we configure voltage, size or capacity and confirm data on the quotation.
| Grade | Compressive strength | Thickness | Thermal conductivity λ | Edge | Board size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XPS 150 | ≥ 150 kPa | 20–100 mm | ≤ 0.030 W/(m·K) | Straight or shiplap | 1200 × 600 mm |
| XPS 250 | ≥ 250 kPa | 30–100 mm | ≤ 0.030 W/(m·K) | Shiplap | 1200 × 600 / 2440 × 600 mm |
| XPS 350 | ≥ 350 kPa | 40–100 mm | ≤ 0.029 W/(m·K) | Shiplap or tongue & groove | 1200 × 600 mm |
| XPS 500–700 | 500–700 kPa | 50–100 mm | ≤ 0.029 W/(m·K) | Shiplap | 1200 × 600 mm |

Features
Built for daily commercial use.
Built for load
Grades from 150 to 700 kPa carry floor slabs, forklift traffic and parking decks.
Moisture resistant
The closed-cell structure keeps water absorption below 1% by volume, so insulation value holds in wet ground.
Freezer floors
Standard insulation layer under freezer room slabs, combined with a vapour barrier and heating mat.
Colour and print
Blue, pink, yellow or your colour, with your brand printed on the board.
Applications
Where it works.
- Freezer and cold room floors
- Foundations and basement walls
- Inverted and green roofs
- Under-slab insulation
- Cavity walls
- Road and rail frost protection
