Sizing calculators.
Three calculators for the questions buyers ask most: how much ice, how much cooling for a cold room, and which reefer unit for a truck box.
- Ice Machine Size CalculatorDaily ice demand ≈ number of seats, rooms or beds × ice per unit (restaurant 1.25 kg per seat, bar 1.75 kg per seat, hotel 2.5 kg per room, hospital 4.5 kg per bed) × 1.2 for peaks, ÷ 0.85 or 0.75 if the machine stands in a warm or hot room. Choose a bin holding at least half of the daily demand.
- Cold Room Refrigeration Load CalculatorCold room load = heat through the panels (U × area × ΔT) + warm air entering at the door + heat removed from new product + about 15% for fans, lights and people, plus a 10% safety margin, divided by the compressor's running hours (16 h for chillers, 18 h for freezers).
- Truck Refrigeration Unit CalculatorRequired cooling = 1.75 × K-value × box surface area × (outside − box temperature) + heat entering at door openings. A 15 m³ frozen box (K = 0.40) at −20 °C with 10 drops a day needs about 3 kW at −20 °C, equal to a unit rated around 5 kW at 0 °C.
